Privacy Policy

The short version

Creds verifies that you're a real student so you can unlock student deals later. We collect the minimum needed to do that, we never sell your data, and we never share it with brands or anyone else without your permission.

What we collect

• Your name and university
• Your university email address, if you verify by email (used only to send you a one-time verification code)
• A photo or PDF of your student ID, if you verify by document upload
• A personal email address, if you give us one later to hear about deals
• Verification status, method, and timestamps

Joining the early-access waitlist

If you sign up before launch, we only collect your email (and, for brands, your company name). We use it to email you when Creds, your university, or your gift card status is ready, nothing else. See our Terms & Conditions for how the early sign-up gift card works.

How your ID document is handled

Uploaded ID documents are stored in a private file store that is never publicly accessible. There is no public link to your document, ever. It's only used to confirm you're a genuine student (automatically, and by a human reviewer if the automatic check is uncertain), and only our admin team can view it, through a link that expires in minutes.

What we never do

• We never sell your data to anyone.
• We never share your data with brands or third parties without your explicit permission.
• We never use your ID document for anything beyond verification.

Referrals

If a friend signs up using your referral link, we link their account to yours so we can show you how many friends you've referred. We don't share your friend's information with you beyond that count.
